#8 Fred

Fred is yet another of United’s recent summer signings, and he has been the best performing of the three, but that isn’t really saying much in the context of things. He has been United’s most used summer signing, but that shouldn’t really be a surprise, given that they paid more than £50 million to sign him from Shakhtar Donetsk earlier this summer.
He does look like a decent player, but there are still questions about what he really offers to the side. He doesn’t really look like he has the defensive responsibility to play deeper in midfield, and he lacks the real quality in the final third to play behind the striker. It may take time for him to really adapt to English football, but he could be a very good player if he does so.
