Before the signings of Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo, Lucas Silva was seen as the next Brazilian star. After breaking into Cruzeiro's first team, he quickly established himself as one of the best defensive midfielders in Brazil as he helped the club win the league in 2014. Real snapped him up on January 2015 and he made his debut in a 2-0 win against Deportivo.
However, he never managed to get into the star-studded Madrid lineup and was then loaned to Marseille for the 15/16 season. This move too didn't work out for him as he was dropped from the French club's Europa League squad for the rest of the season due to his refusal to join Anderlecht on loan.
Currently back on loan at Cruzeiro, he recently revealed that he hopes to play for Real again. It would be difficult for him to do so but it is certainly not impossible and he should follow the footsteps of fellow Madridista and good friend Casemiro if he wants to get his Real Madrid career back on track.
