Ronaldo and Casillas create records in Real Madrid's Club World Cup win

Real Madrid won the Club World Cup beating Argentine side San Lorenzo 2-0 in the final at Marrakech in Morocco.

Sergio Ramos and Gareth Bale scored for the La Decima winners adding to their Champions League, Copa del Rey and European Super Cup titles won this year.

The Madrid side won the trophy for the first time but have won the previous verson of the trophy i.e the Intercontinental Cup thrice. They also extended they winning run to 22 games in all competitions.

They face Valencia in the la Liga and Atletico Madrid in the Copa Del Rey, both away. If they win both these games they will equal the world record of most consecutive wins in all competitions set by Brazilian side Coritiba.

Captain and goalkeeper Iker Casillas, playing his 700th competitive game for the club, lifted the trophy. He has now won every major honour in club and international football.

He is now the only player ever to win: League, League Cup, League Supercup, Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, Club World Cup, Intercontinental Cup, European Cup and the FIFA World Cup.

2014 turned out to be the best year in the cub’s 112-year-old history trophy-wise with them finishing with four major honours.

Star forward Cristiano Ronaldo achieved the rare field of a “Super Slam” having won every major trophy at club level with two different sides.

He also is the only player to win the Club World Cup with two different teams having won it with Manchester United previously.
