Real Madrid were crowned as the best club in the world after they beat San Lorenzo 2-0 to win the Club World Cup.

The tournament comprised of Real Madrid (Spain), San Lorenzo (Argentina), Cruz Azul (Mexico), Auckland City FC (New Zealand), Moghreb Tetouan (Morocco), Western Sydney Wanderers (Australia) and ES Setif (Algeria).

Madrid were on a 21-match winning run prior to the final against the Argentine outfit.

Goals from Sergio Ramos and Gareth Bale extended that run to 22 matches and helped Madrid win the tournament. Bale’s goal made him only the second British player to score in the final of the Club World Cup.

Watch the highlights from the final here:

Real Madrid 1-0 San Lorenzo: Sergio Ramos (37’)

The Argentinian outfit had restricted Real Madrid till the 37th minute when a corner was awarded to the Europeans. Toni Kroos stepped up to take it and sent in an inswinging corner. Sergio Ramos made the most of some poor marking to head the ball home to open the scoring.

Real Madrid 2-0 San Lorenzo: Gareth Bale (51’)

Gareth Bale made it 2-0 to Madrid when he was found inside the box by Isco. The Welshman turned and hit a feeble shot towards the goalkeeper, who let the ball slide in from beneath him into the goal. This goal meant Bale has scored in three finals since joining Madrid just 18 months ago.
