Could an El Clasico be fought on the transfer front as well?
Hello people! Welcome to Sportskeeda's latest transfer news and rumours roundup. With the season now entering its final month, top clubs are keeping their eyes open on potential transfer targets.
And as always, there are stories which make headlines irrespective of the transfer window being open or shut. After scorching through papers and sources from all over Europe, we have managed to find transfer stories that made headlines on 11 May 2018.
Real Madrid and FC Barcelona want Marcos Alonso
Diario Gol has reported that both the Spanish giants are looking at an upgrade at the left back position this summer. Jordi Alba has had a slump in form whereas Marcelo's defensive woes have hurt Real Madrid.
Real and Barcelona are reportedly set to go head to head for the signing of Chelsea's Marcos Alonso. The Blues' failure to potentially book a place in the top four has further cemented the Spanish sides' intent of taking him on board.
Alonso is said to be in agreement over a move back to Spain and is ready to play for any of the two teams. Diario Gol has valued Alonso at €50 million.
Sevilla keen to appoint Manuel Pellegrini
Though the caretaker manager Joaquin Caparros has all but guaranteed a Europa League spot for Sevilla, the Andalusian club is still expected to appoint a new manager for the next season.
Marca has reported that Sevilla want Manuel Pellegrini to take over the side this summer. Pellegrini is currently managing Hebei Fortune in China but is reportedly looking for a move back to Europe.
