Real Madrid insist Gareth Bale is not for sale

Gareth Bale not for sale, say Real Madrid

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has said that Gareth Bale is not for sale at any price, to dissuade any club from making a bid for the Welshman. Manchester United have been linked with a huge bid for Bale, but this statement from Real has made it clear that they are not interested in selling him.

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has reportedly been given a considerable transfer war chest if he feels the need to strengthen his squad considerably, and Bale is supposedly one of the targets identified.

The winger, who signed for Real Madrid in the summer of 2013 for a world record transfer fee of £85.3 million, was a key component of the double winning Madrid side as they completed the historic La decima. When he was asked about Manchester United’s reported interest, he said, “Manchester United? I’m happy in Madrid. I love the city, the weather and the club. I’m eager to win more silverware here. I have a contract with Real Madrid until 2019 and could remain for more years after the end of it.”

Real Madrid president also responded to the speculation by saying, “We have not received an offer from Manchester or any other club for Gareth Bale. We would never listen to any offer for Bale, no matter what the fee.”

Bale, who was linked with a move to United last year before he made the move to Real Madrid, has scored 11 goals for them this season, as they have been on an incredible run so far, having lost just two matches this season across all competitions.
