According to Deloitte's Football League, Real Madrid overtook Manchester United as the world's richest football club.

Manchester United generated the highest revenue among the football clubs in 2018 and were the world's richest club. Real Madrid were second last year whereas their league rivals Barcelona were ranked third.
The Red Devils' struggle on the pitch is one of the biggest reasons for their slip and they did not win the Premier League title even once since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson. The Manchester-based club did not even win the Champions League trophy from the last 10 years, which affected their reputation, subsequently, lowering their revenue.
Real Madrid are also struggling in the league at the moment but their third consecutive Champions League triumph last season helped them increase their revenue and beat their rivals.
The heart of the matter
According to the report published by Deloitte Football Money League, Real Madrid overtook Manchester United in the world's football rich list, with record revenues of €750.9 million.
FC Barcelona climb one place higher to second, making it a Spanish one-two at the top of the Money League, whilst Manchester United slip to third.
The positions are ranked on clubs' ability to generate revenue from matchday sales, broadcast rights, and commercial sources -- based on the 2017/18 season.
A record six English clubs are in this edition's top 10, reflecting the global power of the English Premier League.
Manchester City remains fifth following their record-breaking title win last season, whilst their title rivals, Liverpool climb from ninth to seventh. Chelsea and Arsenal stay eighth and ninth respectively.
