Reports: Real Madrid ready to sell midfield maestro to Manchester United
Jose Mourinho would love to sign him!
What’s the story?
Real Madrid are reportedly looking to add fresh faces to their squad and have set sights on a few targets. Los Blancos need to sell a couple of players to make space for the new ones and have reportedly decided to let go of some first-team players itself.
Zinedine Zidane is keen on signing a big name in the summer and is willing to sacrifice Toni Kroos for it. As per reports in the Daily Mirror, the Spanish giants are ready to sell him to Manchester United.
In case you didn’t know…
Toni Kroos was signed by Real Madrid for just €25 million from Bundesliga side, Bayern Munich. A deal which is touted as the steal of the century by a lot of pundits and fans.
The heart of the matter
According to reports in SPORT, Manchester United are the only club to have registered an interest in signing Kroos. The Red Devils are looking to sign the German as a replacement for Michael Carrick, who is reportedly set to retirement at the end of the season.
Zidane reportedly has informed that club that he has enough and more options in the midfield and so, he's ready to let go of the German. The current midfield options even if you don't include Kroos are Dani Cabellos, Casemiro, Luka Modric, Isco, Marco Asensio, Mateo Kovacic and Marcos Llorente.
Jose Mourinho is keen on adding Kroos to the squad as it would be a huge boost for his team. The manager knows the qualities the midfielder can bring to the team and along with Pogba and Matic, they can dominate the hell out of the opponents.
Toni Kroos is one of the best midfielders in the world right now and it is a surprise that Zidane is ready to let him leave. Real Madrid will find it very difficult to get anyone from their current squad to reach his level.
As for Manchester United, this is the signing Mourinho would want at any cost. It will make them unbeatable in the midfield and if Lukaku hits his best form, then goals will be scored from left, right and centre.
