Hello and welcome to the Real Madrid latest transfer news and rumours of the day! With just six days left for the winter window to slam shut, clubs will now have to be a little quicker and get the deals over the line.

For Madrid, here are the top stories of the day!

#3 Former Arsenal star doesn’t want James at Emirates

Former Arsenal star Lauren has stated that the Gunners shouldn’t sign James Rodriguez. The Bavarians are unlikely to make James’ deal permanent at the Allianz Arena.

This means that he could be back at Madrid or be let go to a Premier League club. Among the top six, Arsenal’s name seems to be linked the most. However, while Lauren acknowledges the talent of the Colombian superstar, he doesn’t think that he is worth it even on a loan deal because of his massive wages and the fact that he failed to establish himself at the Bernabeu and then in Munich.

“I’m not sure that Arsenal should be seriously considering James Rodriquez, even on loan,” Lauren said.

“Rodriguez has got a lot of talent, but the warning signs are there that he hasn’t been able to settle at either Real Madrid or Bayern Munich.

“He comes with a massive wage bill so Arsenal would have to make sure he was fully on board with the philosophy of the club.”

However, Lauren also believes that should Unai Emery get the best out of the superstar, he would be a huge asset to the Emirates outfit and could help them qualify for the Champions League.

“Rodriquez has played in the big games for the big clubs so there’s no doubting his talent,” he said.

“If Emery can get the best out of him then he could make a real impact on whether Arsenal qualify for next season’s Champions League.

“It’s a roll of the dice.”

#2 Pogba will leave for Madrid or Barca

Manchester United superstar will only leave the Red Devils for a move to either Real Madrid or Barcelona, according to his brother Florentin. The French midfielder had been linked with Real Madrid before he moved to the Old Trafford and then was also linked to Barcelona when things between him and Jose Mourinho took a turn for the worst.

And now, his brother has put some fuel on the fire as he claimed that the only upward move that could come from leaving the Theatre of Dreams is to go to one of Manchester City, Barca or Madrid.

"When my brother eventually leaves Manchester United he can only go to three teams to improve -- City, Real Madrid or Barca," Florentin said.

"He will not go to City, so he will come to Spain, either to Barca or Real Madrid."

Real Madrid have a plan to sign Mbappe for a rather bargain price according to Don Balon. The Galacticos are going to wait until 2021, when he will have only a year left in his contract, and then make an offer for the Frenchman, who has informed PSG that he won’t be signing a new deal.

Meanwhile, former Real Madrid right-back Danilo has claimed that Vinicius is going to be at Madrid for a long time while also praising the Galacticos for acquiring Rodrygo from Santos.

"He [Vinicius] is a typical Brazilian player, who can dribble past you with ease. I think he'll be at Real Madrid for many years."

"He [Rodrygo] is a really fast player who can finish," Danilo said. "He is really young and can evolve a lot. "I think it's good that Real Madrid are backing young players with potential."
