What’s the rumour?

After Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo Goes, another Brazilian is all set to seal a dream move to the Santiago Bernabeu. Eder Militao's move away from Porto to Real Madrid C.F looks imminent.

Militao has received the nod from Zinedine Zidane, who returned to Madrid as Santiago Solari's replacement earlier this week. The Brazilian looks set to become Zidane's first signing of the summer.

In case you didn’t know…

Eder Miitao has been on the radar of the Los Blancos since the very beginning of the season as he put in impressive performances for Porto week in week out. His performances not only intrigued Real Madrid but also Manchester United and Liverpool.

The English sides were also very much interested in acquiring the services of the Brazilian but Real Madrid swooped in early and have reached an agreement.

The heart of the matter

Zinedine Zidane came to Real Madrid after he was promised a war chest of €300 million from Florentino Perez to resolve the underlying issues and the first area the Frenchman has decided to fix is his defence.

According to reports from Spanish publication Marca, Eder Militao will sign for the Spanish giants after a deal for €50 million was agreed between FC Porto and Real Madrid. The contract is expected to run for 6 years, expiring in 2025 and the Brazilian has successfully cleared his medical as well.

The Brazilian this season has been named the best defender in Portuguese league for four months in a row. Therefore he would be a great addition to the squad and he would be looking to follow the footsteps of Real Madrid great Pepe.

The Madrid board feel he is an exceptional talent and versatile as he can juggle between the left-back and centre-back positions. They also view him as a long term successor of Sergio Ramos.

Eder Militao's move to the Spanish capital means the €€end of the road for the young Vallejo. Vallejo who has been plagued with injuries in his 2-year spell may be loaned or sold. Meanwhile, Militao would be learning from the best, Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane and also competing with them for the starting spot.
