Hello and welcome to the Real Madrid news and rumours of the day! Here are the top stories of the day surrounding the Galacticos!

Batistuta on why he stayed at Fiorentina

Gabriel Batistuta was once one of the best strikers in the world. At the time, many top clubs – including Real Madrid – were linked to him but he never made a move.

And now, he has revealed the reason for not joining the Galacticos. Apparently, he believes that he would have become bored had he joined a big club like the Merengues as he would have scored over 200 goals for them.

“If I had gone to Real Madrid I would have won for sure,” he said.

“But I would have scored more than 200 goals and I would have been bored, the same would have happened at AC Milan.”

As a result, he wanted the challenge of playing at Fiorentina.

“That’s why I feel like a winner even if I didn’t win trophies. I’m a winner because I did everything I could for Fiorentina to fight against the bigger sides.”

Messi wants Isco

Isco hasn’t been playing much under Santiago Solari and, as a result, might want to leave in the summer. And according to reports from Spain, Messi has informed the Catalans that he would like Isco to join him at the Camp Nou.

The main factor of the deal happening depends on the influence of Messi as Isco is a huge fan of the Argentine.

Wanda Nara denial

There had been stories of Real Madrid refusing to move for Mauro Icardi because Florentino Perez wasn’t keen on dealing with his wife and agent Wanda Nara. However, Nara herself has come out to deny the claims, stating that the reports are false.

"That Mauro hasn't gone to Madrid because of me, as has been said in Spain, is false and we have a lot of respect for Real Madrid," she said.
