Varane has been erratic this season

Raphael Varane is one of the best defenders in the world – if not the best – as he led the backline for France to its second-ever World Cup. He was also the main figure for Madrid in their Champions League title defense last season.

However, so far this season, the Frenchman has been very erratic – almost like a shadow of his former self. He seems to be making many mistakes and it seems as though he is no longer indispensable as he once was.

At least that is what Don Balon seem to think. According to their report, the Galacticos supremo Florentino Perez is willing to sell him should a team come up with a bid of €80 million.

His idea is that he will invest in either one of Milan Skriniar or Matthijs De Ligt to replace the Frenchman, who is being eyed by Manchester United.
