Tottenham Hotspur are emerging as the favourites to sign Real Madrid's out of favour midfielder, Isco Alcaron. The 24-year-old has been seeing his playing time being limited to a few starts and some cameos after Zinedine Zidane's appointment at the helm last year and is set to be open for a move abroad though in the summer he had said that he will fight for his place at Real Madrid.

Spurs are monitoring his situation at the Bernabeu with a loan deal in January a possible scenario and the best one for all parties. His agent, Paco Alcaron recently gave an interview to Italian website Calciomercato.com saying, “I can assure you we won't consider any offers until next summer.” With a transfer ban looming over Madrid's head for the next two transfer windows, Isco's future might turn into a transfer saga in January or next summer.

His contract expires in 2018 as Real must cash in on the 24-year-old with his impact being minimal for the European champions. A contract extension is out of the question as Isco recently said, “If I've still only made a few appearances by the end of the season, I'll look elsewhere. At 24 years of age, I have the right to better myself.” Isco has made only two starts this season with Madrid currently suffering a slump in form with three consecutive draws.

Mauricio Pochettino has been keen on bringing Isco to White Hart Lane despite having a plethora of attacking talents at his disposal which include the likes of Christian Eriksen, Son Heung-Min, Moussa Sissoko, Dele Alli and Erik Lamela who all have done brilliantly so far this season. Isco had loan offers from Spurs and Malaga but he decided to fight for his place at Real despite not suiting to Zidane's demands at the Bernabeu.

Isco had a brilliant first season for Real where he scored 11 goals and 7 assists in 53 appearances for the Los Blancos. His performances took a downward turn in the next season, as from being projected as the club's future, he had to be satisfied with a place on the bench. His average performances denied him a place in the Spain's squad for the Euros which was said to be a huge setback for the 24-year-old.
