What's the story?

Liverpool ace Mohamed Salah has spoken about his priorities at the club, stating that while breaking records are always great, winning the Premier League title is the most important thing to him at the moment.

In case you didn't know...

Despite the slow start to the campaign, Mo Salah continues to play an integral part in Liverpool's title race this season. Together with Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane, the Egypt international has terrorised defences across England, helping Jurgen Klopp's side to the top spot in the Premier League table.

The former Chelsea forward earned several individual accolades since joining the Merseyside club including the Premier League Golden Boot in his debut season with the side. He also went on to receive a Ballon d'Or nomination in the 2018 edition of the award after leading his side to the UEFA Champions League final last summer.

The Egyptian has netted 20 goals in all competitions so far this season and looks well on his way to winning another Golden Boot should he continue his amazing goal-scoring form.

The heart of the matter

Salah has now brushed off his personal records stating that winning the domestic title with Liverpool is his top priority at the moment.

According to Liverpool Echo, he said, "It would be nice to score number 50, number 51 and 52! I always push myself to score more goals and to perform better."

"Of course records are nice but for me the Premier League is now the most important thing."

"It's a very big week. There are three games in eight days and if we can do well in them and still be top of the table that's big for us."

"After that there will only be nine games left and we will have time to recover for them and time to think about that."

What's next?

The Premier League leaders will hope to extend their lead at the top of the league when they lock horns with Watford later tonight. Salah will reach half a century Premier League goals if he scores.
