Germany beat USA 1-0 in the final fixture in Group G with both teams advancing to the Round of 16.

Thomas Muller scored the winner in the second half, but that wasn’t the only highlight of the game.

In the first half, US midfielder Jermaine Jones was seen making a run towards the box with a teammate on the right flank ready to cross. But Jones didn’t even make it into the box.

Before he could latch onto the cross, Jones was sent sprawling on the pitch after the referee barged into him from the side. With both of them keeping an eye on the ball, it was purely accidental.

However, the referee’s positioning could be questioned.
