Reports: Alvaro Morata's agent in Madrid to discuss striker's future

Alvaro Morata
Morata might return to Spain

Real Madrid have decided to bring back one of their own, Alvaro Morata and the wheels are apparently already in motion. According to Spanish radio network SER, the striker’s agent Juanma López was at the Bernabeu yesterday to discuss the possibility of a return to the capital.

Morata has done extremely well since he left the club two seasons ago. Madrid felt he was surplus to requirements and therefore decided to offload the striker. But he came back to haunt his boyhood club in 2014/15 in UEFA Champions League helping his club knock out the Los Blancos from the Champions League.

Morata has mainly acted as the supporting striker to Argentinian sensation Paulo Dybala who has been in red-hot form for the Turin giants. Dybala has scored 19 times this term and helped Juve to their 5th consecutive Serie A title.

Morata has also had a good season but hasn’t been in the same prolific form as his strike partner. He has also hinted that a return to Madrid is very possible. The striker also has a buy-back clause which was inserted into his contract when he was sold.

The Spaniard will cost around €30 million which should be comfortably within the club’s budget. Morata also has offers from English clubs with Arsenal, in particular, being linked with the forward.

Arsene Wenger has been widely criticized by fans and pundits for not adding to his forward line. Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott had decent starts to their season but both started to misfire towards the end of the campaign, highlighting the need for more firepower.

Wenger has addressed one issue already with the signing of Swiss midfielder Granit Xhaka all but confirmed but Morata would be a great coup for the Frenchman. The striker is said to be keen on a move to the Premier League if the one to Madrid does not pan out.

Allegri wants Morata to stay

Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri wants his star to stay at the club for a few more years so he can truly realize his potential. “He's still only a young lad. Morata needs to stay on a few years more at Juventus because he needs time to grow”, he told in an interview with Italian television programme Rai Uno Mattina.

He was also asked as to why Dybala was not allowed to represent his country in either of the two competitions i.e the Copa America and the Olympics in Rio. “At the start, Dybala wasn't ready to show what he showed later that he's capable of but he's got the qualities to get even better.” he replied.
