What's the story?

Manchester United target and Bordeaux star Malcom has shown interest in moving to Old Trafford next season after a good outing in what has been his first season in Europe.

The Brazilian has admitted that it's not the first time that some Premier League club has shown interest in him and he might think of moving to United if they make a bid for him in this summer transfer window.

Speaking to Gazeta Esportiva, he said, "Even when I was at Corinthians, these rumours was already happening. I have a calm mind about that. I have a focused thought on the pitch, and I leave it to my agent and my family to take care of."

"Then, who knows, if a bid comes up I’ll think of leaving, but now I’ll just playing football,"

In case you didn't know...

The Brazilian forward moved to Bordeaux from Corinthians for £5m last summer. The fleet-footed attacker has scored nine goals and assisted another five in his 43 appearances for Bordeaux this season. Liverpool are also said to be interested in the 20-year-old’s services.

The heart of the matter

Jose Mourinho is looking to strengthen his side for an assault on the title next season. He is interested in bringing a clinical striker to Old Trafford, and the Brazilian forward is one of his options.

The 20-year-old's move to Old Trafford could hinge on United qualifying for the Champions League next season.

Other than Malcom, Antoine Griezmann and Romelu Lukaku are also on United’s radar for the upcoming transfer window.

Mourinho is planning to spend around £200m in the next transfer window as the club will do everything to ensure he gets the players he wants. The Red Devils have to win the Europa League this year, however, if they want to sign big name players.

What's next?

Bordeaux will ask £20m for their striker. However, the Red Devils are ready to pay around £15m for his services.

The former Corinthians star’s move to Old Trafford will add some depth to the forward line.

Author's take

The signing of the 20-year-old will not help the Red Devils as he is not an experienced attacker and needs more time to develop. With a lot of youngsters already in the squad, United should look at established stars who can hit the ground running and help the club in their quest for challenging for the league title next season.
