Klopp would love to have him by his side once again!

What's the story?

With Philippe Coutinho now gone, Liverpool are really trying to replace the Brazilian in a bid to finish in the top 4 this season. There have been a couple of names to replace the midfielder but Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has emerged as a shock target for the Reds. Well, at least the folks at the Metro think so.

Aubameyang was also quoted saying, "I have not renewed my contract. In the winter market, a lot can happen, also for me."

In case you didn't know...

The Borussia Dortmund player has also been linked with a move to the Emirates. The player also was interested in a move to Atletico Madrid in the summer. The German club were also interested in selling the player for €60 million, but nothing had materialised.

It was believed that the 28-year-old signed a new contract last month that would keep him at the club until 2021. However, the player has rubbished those reports.

The heart of the matter

Liverpool received £142 million from the sale of the Brazilian and they now plan to reinvest the money in trying to replace him. They have also been linked with a move for Riyad Mahrez and Thomas Lemar.

However, Monaco have made it clear that they will not sell Lemar in January and Leicester City boss, Claude Puel wants to keep the Algerian, thus producing a big obstacle in the Reds' pursuit of the players.

Aubameyang, on the other hand, is open for a move and it is also believed that clubs in China are interested in the player and would like to take him to the far east.

The 28-year-old has scored 21 goals in 24 games for Dortmund this season but has been suspended for "disciplinary reasons". It is believed that he also turned up late for training on a number of occasions, hinting that he wants to leave.

However, there are 2 clubs interested - Guangzhou Evergrande and Beijing Guoan - and the Dortmund star is also yet to give his green signal for the move.

Liverpool think he is the perfect player and plan to hijack his move to China and bring him to Anfield. With Danny Ings available on loan, the Reds could use Aubameyang's services up front.

Aubameyang would definitely be a good addition to Liverpool. The player is fast and would be an asset to the Reds. Jurgen Klopp would love to have him play under him once again, just like old times!
