What’s the story?

Gareth Bale's time at Real Madrid is coming to an end. The Welshman is not a fan favourite nor does he have enough support in the dressing room.

Reports in SPORT now claim that the tension has risen as Bale has refused to apologise for his celebration after scoring the winner vs Levante.

In case you didn’t know…

Real Madrid were awarded a controversial penalty at Levante during their match over the weekend. Bale took responsibility and scored but what followed shocked everyone watching.

Right after scoring and putting Madrid into the lead, Bale stormed back to the half-way line. There was no celebration and he was clearly showing his anger. Lucas Vazquez ran up to Bale soon after he scored only to be pushed away by the Welshman.

The heart of the matter

Reports suggest that Bale is not happy with the way his teammates are treating him just because he cannot speak Spanish. Marcelo and Thibaut Courtois have been open about it in the media recently and that has got the former Tottenham star furious.

Marcelo claimed that he was feeling lonely after the departure of Ronaldo. He said, "On the other side I have Bale, but Bale does not speak [Spanish] as he only speaks English and we talk with gestures and I say, 'Hi, hello and good wine.'"

Thibaut Courtois questioned Bale's decision to skip a team dinner earlier this month. He claimed that the Welshman deemed it 'too late' for dinner and did not show up.

What’s next?

Bale is being linked with a move back to the Premier League in the summer and looking at things now, it's highly likely as well. Chelsea will be in the best position to land, should their 2-window transfer ban be reduced or postponed.

Madrid are chasing Eden Hazard and with a replacement needed at Stamford Bridge, the Blues might settle for a cash + player swap deal that could potentially involve Gareth Bale.
