Reports: Liverpool’s Luis Suarez understood to have agreed personal terms with Barcelona

Suarez off to Barcelona?

Liverpool forward Luis Suarez has reportedly agreed personal terms with Barcelona ahead of his proposed move to the Nou Camp this summer, write the Times.

Following intense speculation surrounding his future, the 27-year-old is keen to secure a quick exit away from Anfield in the wake of his latest breach of discipline; a bite on Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini at the World Cup.

After initially denying that he had committed an infringement, Suarez completed a dramatic turn around when he released a statement admitting his guilt and apologising to the Azzurri centre-back, in a move that was widely believed to have been influenced by the Catalan giants.

Early negotiations between the two clubs in London have been rated as “productive”, with the Spanish club aware that they will not be able to use the Chiellini incident and Suarez’s four month ban to levy a reduced transfer fee for one of the world’s best players.

A fee in the region of £80 million is expected, with Barcelona keen to include Alexis Sanchez as a make weight in the deal, which would suit Brendan Rodgers, who is only willing to let Suarez leave if a suitable replacement.

However, the Chilean is yet to decide where he sees his future amidst interest from Arsenal and Juventus.

Although further rounds of negotiations are needed before a deal can be concluded, Suarez has already agreed personal terms and looks set to secure a lucrative move away from Merseyside.
