Manchester United have made Wilfried Zaha available for transfer this summer , after agreeing to sell him for £7 million according to the Daily Mirror, with the club willing to take a significant loss on the England Under 21 international in order to get him off their books.
Zaha had signalled a desire to return to United ahead of the new season after spending the latter half of last season on loan with Cardiff City, with the young winger having failed to make a significant impact since joining from Crystal Palace a year ago in a £15m deal.
Zaha has been unhappy with David Moyes over his treatment during his time at Old Trafford, but it appears that despite United changing manager to appoint Louis van Gaal ahead of the new campaign, Zaha is still not set to be in the plans of the club.
The Dutch coach has decided that he has no need for the youngster as he plans his revolution of the playing staff at United and the club have made Zaha available for as little as £7m, representing an £8m loss on him and proving Sir Alex Ferguson’s final signing for United something of a folly.
Newcastle United are reportedly leading the chase for his signature if owner Mike Ashley will produce the necessary funds, while Crystal Palace are also interested in a return for their academy product, should a deal be right.
