Manchester United have reportedly launched an astronomical bid of £150 million for Real Madrid star Gareth Bale. The Welshman is now evaluating his future post the offer, according to reports by Spanish outlet Diario Gol. The Welshman has been a long-term target for Manchester United, as Jose Mourinho is said to be desperate for a marquee signing in the summer.

It would be classic Jose if he uses that as a smokescreen for a cheeky offer for the Real Madrid man. Bale has repeatedly confirmed that he is happy at the Bernabeu, but being the main man at Manchester United is something not many players can turn down.

With Cristiano Ronaldo finally showing signs of decline, will he be handed the mantle to be the main man? Only time will answer that question, but the offer from Manchester United is a brilliant bargaining chip to have.
