Rio: I can’t wait to see Kagawa in action

Over the years, we’ve grown to understand Rio Ferdinand as one of the more enthusiastic and expressive United players. Rio’s Twitter is certainly not a place for the faint-hearted. I personally stay away from his account because I can’t bring myself to know that every minute of my day could be subject to another one of his bland and boring ramblings and #hashtags.

Despite this though, I can’t fault his enthusiasm and again today he’s shown how passionate he is ahead of the upcoming season. Speaking about Shinji Kagawa to MUTV, Rio said “I can’t wait to see Kagawa in action. I watched him on TV last season and saw him in the cup final when Dortmund beat Bayern Munich and he looked very impressive.”

“I think a lot of people will be surprised by how good he really is and hopefully he can hit the ground running,” he added. Rio also stated his love for pre-season, saying ”This is the longest time I’ve had off and I’m raring to go. Even the family at home have been trying to get me out of the door to come to training! I’ve been getting cold feet in the house sitting around doing nothing. It’s hard work but I love it.”

Proving to be a popular figure across the worldwide United fanbase, there’s no surprise he believes “It’s great to see so many different parts of the world.” He added ”I can’t wait to see the fans in all the different countries we’re visiting on tour. I’ve been to Durban before and I can’t wait to go back to South Africa. It’s great to be able to give the fans who support us throughout the world a chance to see us live.” Maybe there’s a career for Rio in marketing after he hangs up his footballing boots.
