Brazilian legend Ronaldinho has expressed his thoughts on Neymar and feels he can go on and make his mark in the English Premier League as well, according to Mirror. He termed Neymar as the best player in the world if one considers the current form.

“Neymar, currently on form, is the best player in the world,” he said. The World Cup winner has been monitoring Neymar’s development since the youngster’s Santos days and said that he was not at all surprised by the 23-year-old’s meteoric rise.

“His rise has not surprised me at all. Even when he was a kid his ability was obvious. At the age he is, I still have every belief he can go on to get better and better,” Ronaldinho said.

“Now he has reached the level of the best in the world, he can stay there for five or six years, comfortably.”

When quizzed on whether Neymar can maintain the level of his performances in the Premier League, if at all he decides to make a move to England, Ronaldinho was certain he could thrive in any league.

“He could and would succeed at any league in the world. Of course, there are always transition periods. But when you have that much ability you will succeed in any league in any country,” the former Barcelona midfielder explained.

“England is not an easy league to succeed in, but yes, of course, he would be a success there.”

Will Neymar leave Barcelona?

The 35-year-old, however, was not sure if Barcelona will allow their star player to leave the Camp Nou.

“I can’t see why Barcelona would want to allow him to leave. But if he was to, I’m sure that it would have to be for a record fee.”

The speculation of Neymar leaving the Catalan club have gained momentum after his father admitted a few days back that if the result of the ongoing tax evasion case is not in favour of the family, the winger might be forced to leave the Blaugrana.

“We are not thinking of leaving Spain, but we have a problem. We’ve never experienced such major tax issues,” said Neymar Sr. “I don’t want to use the word 'persecution', but if the working environment here is not good, we won’t be able to remain in Spain and will have to leave the country.”

Neymar’s stellar performances recently have added to his market value and the way he outperformed Real Madrid along with his teammates only strengthens Ronaldinho’s claim of the 23-year-old being the best player in the world on form.
