One of the greatest U.S. football players on all-time, Clint Dempsey is at number four on this list. He scored 57 goals in 141 games for his national side and is the joint-most goalscorer in the football history of the U.S. alongside Landon Donovon.

Clint Dempsey started his professional career with New England Revolution and soon established himself as one of the biggest prospects in the MLS. His impressive performances in his homeland caught the attention of the Premier League side, Fulham and he eventually signed for the Londoners in January 2007.

His career at Fulham was a success and he is the top scoring Fulham player in the Premier League. He is also the highest scoring American in the Premier League and is the only American to score 50 goals in the English top flight.

He joined Tottenham in 2012 but left the club for Seattle Sounders just after one season due to limited opportunities. He re-joined Fulham on loan in 2014 but his second spell with the club wasn't a success and he returned to Settle Sounders, where he is currently playing.

Dempsey won the U.S. Soccer Athlete of the Year award three times and was also Fulham's Player of the Year in 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 seasons.
