#3 David Villa (59)

Spain v Italy - FIFA 2018 World Cup Qualifier
David Villa is Spain's all-time highest goal scorer.

This would come as a surprise to many football fans that David Villa is still playing professional football. But the former Barcelona man is playing for the MLS side, New York City and apparently has no immediate plans of retiring from football.

The former Barcelona man is Spain's all-time highest goalscorer and has scored 59 goals in 98 games for his country. Villa initially retired from international football after 2014 FIFA World Cup but returned from his retirement in 2017 to play in the World Cup qualifiers against Italy and Lichenstein.

He enjoyed a decorated career with the Spanish national side and has won the FIFA World Cup 2014 as well as the UEFA European Championship in 2008. He won the Golden Boot in the UEFA European Championship 2008 and has also scored joint-most five goals in the FIFA World Cup 2010.

Villa won the Spanish Player of the Year award for the 2005-2006 season and was also a part of FIFPro World XI in 2010.
