Ronaldo to Manchester United - a reunion on the cards?

WIGAN, ENGLAND – MAY 13: Sir Alex Ferguson the manager of Manchester United and Cristiano Ronaldo celebrate after the Barclays Premier League match between Wigan Athletic and Manchester United at the JJB Stadium on May 13, 2009 in Wigan, England.

According to widespread media reports, It has been reported that Manchester United will have the first buy-back option on Cristiano Ronaldo should Los Blancos decide to sell their prized asset.

The Sun has reported that the hierarchy at Madrid value him at £120 million, a fee which former boss Sir Alex Ferguson has deemed ‘unpayable’. Ronaldo, who stated in September that he was ‘unhappy’ at Madrid, has also stated that he would like to return to the Theatre of Dreams at some point in his career, although not specifying when.

It was suggested that UEFA’s decision to award Andres Iniesta with the best Player in Europe award ahead of him and the lack of support he received from Real Madrid was the reason behind his reported sadness.

With Madrid’s high demands for the world’s most expensive footballer, a return might be hampered at the moment but given Ferguson’s admiration for him nothing can be definitely ruled out.
