According to AS via (Barca Blaugranes), Barcelona will not offer defender Andreas Christensen a new contract, and he will be allowed to leave this summer. The 29-year-old is in the final year of his contract with the Catalan club.

As per the report, manager Hansi Flick wants Christensen to remain at the club. However, sporting director Deco believes they have adequate manpower in the centre-back department and can do without the Danish defender.

Barcelona have five centre-backs in the first team, including Christensen. Pau Cubarsi, Inigo Martinez, Ronaldo Arajuo, and Eric Garcia are all at the manager's disposal in the position. Araujo featured intermittently in Flick's setup last term due to injuries, but Deco is counting on the Uruguayan to be available and more involved next season.

Furthermore, La Blaugrana plans on giving academy star Sergi Domínguez more game time in the senior team next season. Flick can also deploy Jules Kounde as a center-back if needed.

Andreas Christensen was largely absent in Barca's domestic treble triumph in the 2024-25 season. An Achilles tendon and muscle injury kept the Dane away for most of the season. He was limited to just 259 minutes of action from six appearances in the league and UEFA Champions League.

Amid the decision regarding his future, Christensen has been linked with a move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr. The Denmark international has recorded four goals and three assists in 80 appearances for Barca.

Al-Nassr wants Barcelona defender to replace foreign star at the club - Reports

Al-Nassr are reportedly interested in signing Andreas Christensen. The Knights of Najd see the Barcelona defender as a possible replacement for Aymeric Laporte, who has been linked with a return to Europe this summer.

As per Diario Sports (via Barca Blaugranes), the Cristiano Ronaldo-led side are willing to double Christensen's current salary if he agrees to join them. The centre-back reportedly earns about €173,007 per week at Barcelona.

As reported above, La Blaugrana are willing to let Christensen leave this summer. His contract does not expire until next summer, which suggests that the Catalan club would prefer to cash in on him now than lose him for nothing.
