As per journalist Alfredo Pedulla (via CaughtOffside), Nuno Tavares, who recently left Arsenal to join Lazio, could soon leave the Italian side. Biancocelesti are reportedly sceptical about keeping the Portuguese left-back on a permanent basis.

Ahead of last term (2024-25), Tavares secured a loan switch from the Emirates to the Stadio Olimpico. His loan move was necessary due to the increasing competition in Arsenal's left-back area.

Having moved to Italy, Tavares commenced his stint on a decent note by impressing the supporters. However, his form began to dwindle towards the end of the last term.

He contributed nine assists in 30 games for Biancocelesti in the 2024-25 season. However, the loan deal with Lazio had certain clauses, one of which was an obligation to buy if specific expectations were met.

Thus, Tavares joined Biancocelesti permanently from Arsenal for a reported €5 million in the ongoing window. His unconvincing run towards the end of last term has apparently forced Lazio to turn their attention to other left-backs in the transfer window.

This implies that Tavares could leave Lazio if a left-back replacement is signed. The aforementioned source also hinted that a few unnamed Premier League clubs are interested in signing the Portuguese this summer.

In a discussion with talkSPORT, Parlour said (via Arsenal Insider):

“I think he’s got so much potential, I’m going to go right, I’d pay the money to get him because he’s 22 years old and I think he’s got everything going for him, he’s only going to get better.

He added:

“Mikel can teach him and he can play all along the front line, he can play number ten, wide, everywhere can’t he and he will score you some goals as well.”

While Martin Odegaard, who is the Gunners' attacking figure, struggled to create chances last season, Rogers was sensational. In 54 outings, he netted 14 goals and contributed 15 assists for Aston Villa.
