Liverpool's recruitment team are monitoring Veerman and he could become the first signing of the Slot era. The Dutchman has been getting to grips with the squad during pre-season to assess necessary incomings.

The 16-cap Netherlands international joined PSV from Heerenveen in January 2022 for just €6 million. Hans Westerhorf, a board member of his former club, once told Dutch outlet AD that he pasesse better than Barcelona superstar Frenkie de Jong:

"He has exceptional qualities. How he passes a ball over 50 meters… I don’t even see Frenkie de Jong doing that."

The Athletic reports that the Reds rejected a €14 million offer from Marseille for Endo. They feel a lack of replacements are on the market and the timing of the bid wasn't suitable.

Endo, 31, joined Liverpool from Stuttgart last summer for €20 million and he has three years left on his contract. He appeared 44 times across competitions, registering three goals and one assist.

The 62-cap Japan captain arrived amid a midfield overhaul ahead of Jurgen Klopp's final season in charge. Slot will undoubtedly want to shape the squad in his own vision and this could see Veerman replace Endo.
