According to a recent report by Football Insider, Liverpool are interested in signing Morgan Gibbs-White from Nottingham Forest. The potential deal could be tied to Arne Slot's quest to bolster the attacking side of the midfield.
The report also claims that Gibbs-White was identified by the Reds scouting team and he's a target in the current winter transfer window.
The Englishman has proven to be a vital attacking midfielder since joining Nottingham Forest from Wolves for a reported €29.50 million fee in August 2022. Gibbs-White has had a decent outing this season, having scored three goals and registered as many assists in 15 appearances.
Gibbs-White is a midfielder who could feature in distinct attacking positions aside from his preferred attacking midfield role. Thus, his versatility and flexibility could enhance Liverpool's attacking prowess if signed.
The Reds lack a natural attacking midfielder who could enhance their creativity in attack. As such, Gibbs-White could be a key signing. The Englishman's ability to facilitate the quick transition of the ball from midfield to attack could enhance the Reds' attack.
However, he's contracted at Nottingham Forest until June 2027. Football Insider claims that a decent valuation for Gibbs-White next summer could be difficult for Forest to turn down.
"We didn't know Mohamed Salah could get any better" - Liverpool's manager Arne Slot

Arne Slot has claimed that the club didn't believe Mohamed Salah could perform better than he has previously done. This comes after Salah has proven to be the most outstanding attacker in the Premier League this season.
In a press conference after the 5-0 Premier League win against West Ham United, Slot said (via Fabrizio Romano):
"We didn't know Mohamed Salah could get any better... but somehow he has!."
He added:
"Best player in the world? If you look at his numbers you can't argue with it."
Salah is the Premier League's top scorer this season, having scored 17 goals and registered 13 assists in 18 games. However, his contract at Anfield expires in the summer and he's yet to sign a new deal.
