Liverpool manager Arne Slot is planning to improve his squad

Liverpool are eager to sign Fulham's Antonee Robinson, according to TBR Football. The American full-back has apparently been identified as the ideal successor for Andrew Robertson at Anfield.

The Scottish left-back was a key ingredient in the Reds' success under Jurgen Klopp. However, the player will turn 31 in March and the Merseyside club are eager to lay down succession plans.

Liverpool want Robinson to eventually take his place in the team and are even willing to include Konstantinos Tsimikas in their offer to sweeten a deal. The Greek international has featured heavily under Arne Slot this season, registering 11 appearances across competitions.

However, Tsimikas' future at Anfield remains uncertain. The Reds believe that Robinson will be an upgrade in the left-back position and are ready to rope him in January.

The 27-year-old is under contract with Fulham until 2028 and is valued at £40m. The Merseyside club are hoping that Tsimikas can help bring down the price tag and also pave the path for a move in the winter.

Robinson has played every minute of every game for the Cottagers in the Premier League this season, registering three assists from 11 games. However, he is not the only left-back under consideration at Liverpool.

The Merseyside giants also have their eyes on Bournemouth speedster Milos Kerkez and Wolverhampton Wanderers full-back Rayan Ait-Nouri. However, Robinson remains their preferred choice for the position as of now.

Andy Robertson arrived at Liverpool in the summer of 2017 as a relatively unknown figure. The Reds reportedly paid Hull City £8m to secure his signature, and it would soon turn out to be a bargain.

The Scot started his tenure at Anfield as an understudy to Alberto Moreno, but soon made the left-back slot his own. The player has since appeared 312 times for the Merseyside club, scoring 11 goals and setting up 65 more.

The 30-year-old won the Champions League in the 2018-19 campaign. He was also part of the team that reached the finals of the tournament in 2018 and 2022.

He guided Liverpool to their first league title in the Premier League era in the 2019-20 campaign. Robertson has also won the FA Cup, the EFL Cup, the Community Shield, the UEFA Super Cup, and the FIFA Club World Cup with the Reds. The player's contract at Anfield expires at the end of next season.
