Liverpool have been dealt a major setback with the news that first-choice goalkeeper Alisson Becker is reportedly expected to be out until after the November international break. The shot-stopper sustained a hamstring injury during Liverpool’s 1-0 win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday.

The Brazilian was forced off late in the second half, leaving manager Arne Slot to rely on third-choice keeper Vitezslav Jaros, who made his Premier League debut in Alisson’s absence. According to The Times' Paul Joyce, Alisson will now miss at least seven crucial matches for the Merseyside powerhouse.

The 32-year-old gloveman is expected to miss high-stakes Premier League fixtures against Chelsea, Arsenal, Brighton & Hove Albion, and Aston Villa. Additionally, Alisson will miss Champions League clashes against RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen, as well as a Carabao Cup match against Brighton.

The Reds will be without their numero uno until at least late November, when he might return for their league match against Southampton and possibly their Champions League showdown with Real Madrid on November 27.

With Republic of Ireland international Caoimhin Kelleher also sidelined due to illness, Liverpool’s goalkeeping duties have fallen to Jaros. The 23-year-old kept a clean sheet on his debut, stepping up in a pressure-filled moment.

Meanwhile, Kelleher is expected to resume training soon and should fill in as the starting goalkeeper during Alisson's absence.

Alisson’s fitness has been a concern for the Merseysiders, with the shot-stopper missing 10 matches last season due to injury and illness. For Kelleher, this provides an opportunity for an extended run in the team, a significant development given his reported desire to leave Anfield during the summer transfer window.

Versatile Swedish midfielder confirms Liverpool interest: Reports

Swedish midfielder Daniel Svensson has confirmed Liverpool’s interest in him, sharing his excitement over the prospect of being scouted by the Merseyside giants.

Speaking to local outlet Fotboll Skanalen (via Caught Offside), the 22-year-old revealed that representatives had attended several of his matches although he remains uncertain about the extent of the club’s interest. He said:

“[The Liverpool interest is] great fun, of course. It’s a sign that I’m doing something right and performing well, I just use it as fuel to run on.”
“It was obviously a bit surreal. I don’t know much about it. I only know that [Liverpool] watched some matches and such. More than that, I don’t know,” he added.

Svensson has caught attention with his versatility and is able to play as a central midfielder, left-back, and even as a centre-back. In his 145 appearances for Nordsjælland, Svensson has recorded eight goals and 19 assists (Transfermarkt).

While the Reds are closely monitoring him, TBR reports that other Premier League clubs - including Arsenal, Tottenham, Aston Villa, and Manchester City - are also interested. His adaptability across positions could make him a valuable asset for any team.
