According to Portuguese outlet Correio da Manha, Manchester United are plotting a massive £228 million triple swoop from Benfica. They are interested in Portugal internationals Joao Neves and Antonio Silva, as well as Norway's Fredrik Aursnes.

The Red Devils want to bolster their midfield. They are keen on partnering Kobbie Mainoo with 19-year-old Joao Neves, who is a Portugal international and his talent is evident.

Neves reportedly has a release clause of £120 million in his Benfica contract. The Red Devils, though, believe they can convince Benfica for a lesser sum to sell the prodigious talent.

Silva, on the other hand, has already become a top defender. The 20-year-old is a Portugal international and is seen as a perfect replacement for the likes of Raphael Varane and Jonny Evans. Silva could become a long-term partner for Argentine Lisandro Martinez.

Manchester United are also interested in Fredrik Aursnes. The 28-year-old can play as a full-back on both flanks. He scored four goals and provided 12 assists in 55 appearances across competitions for Benfica in 2023-24. Aursnes has an estimated market value of €20 million, as per Transfermarkt.

While Manchester United are keen on making a move for the trio, any approach is expected to take place after Euro 2024. Both Neves and Silva are in Portugal's squad for the tournament in Germany.

Benfica expect interest from European giants for Manchester United target Joao Neves: reports

As per a report from Portuguese outlet A Bola, Benfica expect Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) to make an intense approach for Benfica midfielder Joao Neves. Neves is also on Liverpool's radar.

Benfica president Rui Costa reportedly won't consider any offer below €100 million for Neves. PSG's interest could make matters complicated for Manchester United.

Apart from that, Neves could further skyrocket his demand with a jubilant campaign at Euro 2024. Portugal are among the consensus favorites in the tournament. Hence, Neves could show his full array of skills in Germany.
