Real Betis will reportedly target Liverpool star Federico Chiesa in case they cannot sign Manchester United loanee Antony. The Spanish club see the Italian as the ideal winger, as they look to bolster their squad.
As per a report in Football Espana, Betis are keen on getting Antony on loan again from United. However, they do not think the Red Devils will sanction another loan move. Thus, they are looking at alternatives and have identified Chiesa. Liverpool are open to a sale as they are getting Florian Wirtz, and the Italian is also ready to leave to play regularly.
Federico Chiesa spoke to Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport earlier this month and said:
"The year is over. But it's an experience I would do again. Soon I will sit down at the table with the club, Fali (Ramadani, his agent) and my family to find the best solution. I wouldn't mind staying in Liverpool at all."
"At the beginning, I felt the frustration of the radical change and of being far behind the group, then there was the injury. Could I start to discuss the choices of Slot who has always been very respectful towards me, as well as the club? The desire to play was there, I put it aside, I understood the situation," he added.
Manchester United are open to selling Antony and have slapped a €35 million price tag on him.
When Isco said he wants Manchester United's Antony to stay at Real Betis another year
Real Betis midfielder Isco spoke to the media in March and joked that the Spanish club needed to start a crowdfunding campaign to sign Antony. He added that the Manchester United loanee had surprised them. Isco said (via ESPN):
"We need to crowdfund so he can stay at least another year. I'm happy to be able to enjoy Antony. He has surprised us all with his humility and with his willingness to help and add. We have noticed a change since he arrived. We are happy for him and for the team."
Manchester United and Liverpool are looking to bolster their squads and are keen on selling players who are not in their managers' plans.
