Rumour: Arsenal make first move for Ligue 1 hitman, Alexandre Lacazette

According to reports in France, Arsenal have made the first move for highly-rated Lyon forward Alexandre Lacazette.

The Gunners have, allegedly, submitted a bid of €10 million for the 22-year-old, which has been immediately rejected by Lyon.

Arsene Wenger has been looking to sign a striker since the start of last summer and is now in further need of recruitments after Theo Walcott was ruled out for the rest of the season and Nicklas Bendtner remains injured for several weeks.

The reports suggest that Wenger is a big fan of the French forward is Lyon’s top scorer in Ligue 1 this season having scored nine goals.

Lacazette is now the second player denied an exit from Lyon by the club’s president, Jean Michel Aulas. Maxime Gonalons had all but signed for Napoli earlier in the week before Aulas went back on the agreement and refused to sell the battling midfielder.

It now seems that Arsenal may have a similar fight on their hands to sign Lacazette.

Not only has Lacazette scored nine goals in Ligue 1, he’s created 25 chances, including one assist.
