Rumour: Arsenal ponder stunning bid for Real Madrid's Isco

Isco

Arsenal are weighing up a £30 million bid for unsettled Real Madrid star Isco, according to reports in the Metro.

The 21-year-old joined Carlo Ancelotti’s side last summer in a £23 million move from fellow La Liga outfit Malaga, but could now leave the Bernabeu at the end of the season.

The Spain under-21 star has grown unsettled in Madrid as he is not fond of Ancelotti’s training methods and does not feel that he has progressed as a player during the Italian’s tenure.

Gareth Bale’s arrival for a world record transfer fee has undoubtedly overshadowed Isco and he feels undervalued.

However, North London boss Arsene Wenger is a keen admirer of the Spaniard and was reported to be interested in the youngster while he was at Malaga, only to be trumped by the Spanish giants in the transfer market when he became available.

But Wenger is ready to launch a bid for his services, now Isco has affirmed his desire to leave, having failed in a recent move for Schalke 04?s Julian Draxler.

Isco snubbed a move to link up with former Malaga coach Manuel Pellegrini at Premier League rivals Manchester City before he joined Madrid so Wenger is likely to face stiff competition for the mercurial midfielder.

Ironically Isco was tipped to replace Arsenal’s record signing Mesut Ozil at Madrid, who joined the Gunners in a £42 million deal, but could now join the German in north London.
