Rumour: Former Arsenal striker, Eduardo wouldn’t say no to the Gunners

Former Arsenal striker Eduardo has admitted that he could be on the move this transfer window, and conceded that he would love a return to London to solve his former side’s striker shortage. The Croatian forward is coming to the end of his contract at Shakhtar Donetsk and has been linked with a move away from the club. He told Il Sussidiario that he would welcome a move to Arsenal and welcomed links with Italian side Inter Milan.

“I do not know anything about it, other than what I read in the media,” said Eduardo when questioned on a potential move away from Ukraine.

“But of course, who would not like to go to Arsenal? Everybody knows that when I left, everything was done in a friendly manner.

“We are still friends and after leaving I spoke several times with Arsene Wenger. I still have many friends in London but of course this does not mean that I will come back to Arsenal.”

The Croatia international continued by suggesting that his World Cup hopes dictate that he could move in January and admitted that he was open to a move to Serie A and Inter Milan.

“I would like to play more because of the World Cup. Inter Milan are a great club with great tradition. Who wouldn’t want to play for them?

“The Italian league remains one of the most difficult and it is always hard to play against all teams in Serie A.”

Eduardo has played in just one of Shakhtar’s six Champions League ties this season, making a 16 minute cameo against Real Sociedad.
