Rumour: Arsenal and Liverpool interested in Barcelona’s Isaac Cuenca

Arsenal and Liverpool have reignited their interests in Barcelona’s Isaac Cuenca as his days at the Nou Camp are numbered, TalkSport report. The youngster was linked with Spurs earlier this month too.

Brendan Rodgers and Arsene Wenger are thought to be fans of Cuenca who has always found it hard to breakthrough Barcelona’s attacking line-up due to the sheer amount of talent ahead of him.

Cuenca has Lionel Messi, Neymar, Cesc Fabregas, Pedro, Alexis Sanchez and Christian Tello ahead of him in the pecking order to a move away from the Spanish giants could be the best for his career.

The exciting 22-year-old has also had his young career ravaged by knee injuries – the most recent struck him down in March when he was on loan at Ajax and required surgery in June.

Cuenca has been in full training since October but is yet to feature for the Catalan side this term and looks likely to be moved on this month.

“He is training,” Barca coach Tata Martino said. “We will see if he stays here or gets the chance to play elsewhere.”

Cuenca has not played for Barcelona since 2012 and has scored just four goals in 30 appearances.
