Arsenal would like to get over Sagna’s contract talks as soon as possible

Arsenal are preparing to make one final offer to Bacary Sagna, in the hope that he will finally sign a new contract extension after months of stalling, according to Goal.

Sagna’s current contract expires at the end of the season and manager Arsene Wenger has admitted that talks have stalled between the two parties once again, with the length of contract believed to be the main sticking point in negotiations.

The Frenchman has a string of offers from other clubs around Europe, with Fenerbahce reportedly preparing to double Sagna’s current wages at Arsenal, while Inter Milan, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain are also credited with an interest.

Arsenal are keen on keeping the right-back at the club however and are lining up and £80,000 per week take it or leave it offer to Sagna, with the contract set to last for two-years, with the option for a third should he continue to be a key first team player.

Sagna is believed to want a guaranteed three year deal, but Arsenal have a policy in which they will not offer long-term deal to players over the age of 30, with Sagna now aged 31 years old.

They have made a final offer to keep at the Emirates but have a contingency plan in place he still refuses the offer, with Calum Chambers, Sebastian Jung and Lukasz Piszczek all believed to be targets for the Gunners.
