Rumour: Arsenal send out delegation for £40m transfer talks with Julian Draxler

Speculation continues to mount over the future of reported Arsenal target Julian Draxler, with Goal reporting that the Gunners have sent a delegation of negotiators to Germany to seal a deal for the Schalke midfielder.

Club officials are also rumoured to be looking to broker a deal for Frankfurt right back Sebastian Jung whilst in Germany, as Arsenal look to add to their table-topping squad ahead of Friday’s transfer deadline.

Draxler has long been linked with a move to Arsenal, but the delegation of club officials may have their work cut out if they are to secure the German international. The two clubs are believed to be some way apart in their valuations of the 20-year-old, whilst Schalke are said to be unwilling to let him go without having a replacement lined up.

Arsenal are also believed to be looking to tie up a deal for right-back Jung, who will provide a long term successor to current incumbent Bacary Sagna. The Frankfurt man is reported to be available for around £7 million and – at 23 – would be the long term replacement for Sagna, who is out of contract at the Emirates in the summer.
