Rumour: Barcelona’s Cesc Fabregas leads Man Utd’s four-man transfer hitlist

Will Cesc Fabregas make a return to the EPL?

Manchester United have lined up four major signings for their summer shopping spree, despite not having a manager in place for next season after the dismissal of David Moyes on Tuesday, according to the Express.

Louis van Gaal is the bookmakers favourite to be in charge at Old Trafford next season with Ryan Giggs having taken charge on a temporary basis until the end of the season, but there is no reported replacement announced to discuss potential transfer targets with.

This has not stopped the club from stepping up their interest in a number of long-term targets, with Toni Kroos, Luke Shaw, Edinson Cavani and Cesc Fabregas all believed to be of great interest to the club.

United have long been expected to go on a major squad overhaul in the summer, with a reported £200 million having been made available to Moyes, prior to his dismissal in the week.

Fabregas was a target last summer as well, with the player turning down a move to United but with Barcelona having regressed and public opinion having turned against the former Arsenal man, he may be tempted by a move should United come calling again.

Kroos is still considering a new contract offer from Bayern Munich, but the club have admitted they may be forced to sell in the summer if an agreement can’t be agreed soon, while talks have reportedly already been opened with both Southampton and Paris Saint-Germain for the signatures of Shaw and Cavani respectively.
