Rumour: Carlo Ancelotti being considered as the next manager for Manchester United

Carlo Ancelotti has emerged as one of the potential contenders to take up the managerial position at Manchester United.

The Real Madrid gaffer has been been linked to the Red Devils to fill up the vacant spot at Old Trafford for the next summer.

Following the dismissal of David Moyes on Tuesday morning, Louis Van Gaal was being seen as one of the prime candidates to take over at United. But reports of Ancelotti’s growing ‘strained’ relations with the Real Madrid board have prompted the United officials to wait for a while before committing to any decision .

Ancelotti was appointed as Real Madrid manager at the start of this season. So far the ex Milan boss has delivered the Copa Del Rey and is in contention for the treble with both the Champions League and La Liga up for grabs.

History has suggested that managing Real Madrid can be the most difficult job in the world as anything less than a perfect season can put the manager’s job in doubt.

If Ancelotti does fail in the remaining competitions, it remains to be seen how he is dealt by the Spanish outfit and whether the Italian will be available in the summer.
