Rumour: Everton Ribeiro favours Manchester United switch Real Madrid

Cruzerio midfielder Everton Ribeiro insists that he is keen on a move to Manchester United, but the club are yet to make a formal approach for him.

The 24 year-old attacking midfielder has been linked with United and host of other outfits, including clubs in the Middle East and Ukraine, but remains in the dark until his current club receive an offer.

“I can’t say that I’m leaving if nothing concrete comes up. My focus is here in Cruzeiro. The Libertadores is already knocking on our door, we have to be well prepared for this competition,” he declared, according to The Manchester Evening News.

But Ribeiro, who won Player of the Year in Brazil but remains uncapped at international level, has made it clear United are his first choice, even if Real Madrid were to enter the race.

“Yes I would like it more (to move to United). The structure they have there is one of the best in the world. There were more than five pitches on the training ground, I was impressed. I have already visited for a lecture with Sir Alex Ferguson,” he declared.

However, Cruzeiro president Gilvan de Pinho Tavares is aware that his prize asset could command a large transfer fee and is confident that is what it will take to prise him away from Brazil.

“They will need to offer a lot of money to sign him. I can’t ensure he will be at the club his whole life. I am good at keeping players at the club, so the fans can be calm as it won’t be any offer that will be enough to sign Everton Ribeiro,” he insisted.
