The former Tottenham Hotspur manager who is now managing Queens Park Rangers in the Championship would soon be trying to manage his old club Tottenham Hotspur.
The 66 year old, who signed a contract with Queens Park Rangers in the November of 2012 replacing the previously sacked Mark Hughes, whose contract had been terminated due to QPR’s poor form in the Premier League, which eventually led them to relegation. Harry Redknapp’s QPR currently stands in the 2nd position in the Championship after securing a goalless draw with Blackburn Rovers at home.

On the other hand, Tottenham Hotspur, which is currently managed by former Chelsea manager, André Villas-Boas has not had a smooth ride till now in the premier league. Spurs lost 6-0 to Manchester City despite a 110 million pounds spending spree. Tottenham managed to secure a comeback win against Sunderland at stadium of light with John O Shea’s own goal being the winner of the game. Tottenham currently stand at the 6th position with 27 points. Villas-Boas’s team will be facing Liverpool whose marquee striker Luis Suarez is in top form and is league leader in amount of goals having scored 14 goals so far.
If Tottenham lose at home against Liverpool, Villas-Boas may feel the pressure of being sacked by the Tottenham Hotspur board after his summer spending spree. The next potential target to replace him would be the former coach Harry Redknapp. Harry Redknapp had previously been sacked in 2012 for failing to qualify in the Champions League despite coming 4th in the premier league due to Chelsea winning the competition. Given a second chance, if Villas-Boas gets sacked Redknapp’s priority would be getting Tottenham Hotspur to the Champions League.
According to The Guardian, there might be a slight possibility of this move happening because there will be other probable managers including likes of Luis Enrique who is currently managing Celta Vigo and Micheal Laudrup who is currently managing Swansea City. Nothing can said as of now, whether Tottenham Hotspur would let go of their Portugese manager or would Villas-Boas lead his team to Champions League qualification?
