Rumour: Julian Draxler on the brink of deadline day £30 million move to Arsenal

According to the Daily Mirror, Arsenal are poised to sealing a deadline day deal for primary target Julian Draxler with a £30 million bid, which will also see the youngster’s wages rise from £45,000 to £80,000 per week.

The German outfit have so far been firm over the transfer negotiations of their star, demanding all potential suitors to match the player’s £37 million buy-out clause if they are to have any chance of prising him away.

However, as the January transfer window enters it’s final day, Arsene Wenger and the hierarchy at the Emirates look to have persuaded the Schalke representatives into a bargain settlement with add ons, after just one day of intense talks.

If a move for the 20-year old German is completed, it could become the second highest transfer fee in the history of the Gunners, behind the £42.5 million they shelled out for Mesut Ozil last summer.
