Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham are set to do battle for Barcelona’s exciting winger Cristian Tello.
Rodgers is already planning reinforcements after the title edged even further away following Liverpool’s slip-up against Crystal Palace on Monday night.
Tello has been linked with a move away from Barcelona for some time with a lack of playing action coming his way in the last season or so. His situation has escalated under the stewardship of Gerard Martino with Tello having started just six games this season. Tello was reportedly asked by Martino to come on to waste time, after 89 minutes, against Getafe at the weekend.
The 22-year-old was unhappy with Martino’s instructions, hitting back at the Barcelona boss telling him the substitution was “disrespectful”, before going on to replace Pedro.
The youngster has reportedly admitted he will moving for pastures new if Martino remains at the helm next season.
The Spaniard has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool since Brendan Rodgers took over at the Merseyside outfit and he was reportedly close to signing for the Reds in the January transfer window. Rated at £8 million, Rodgers is keen to bolster his squad ahead of the return of Champions League football to Anfield next season.
However, according to the Daily Star, Liverpool will have to do battle with north London duo Arsenal and Tottenham as both clubs are keen on snapping up the exciting talent.
