Rumour: Liverpool and Manchester United battle for Inter Milan's Ibrahima Mbaye

Imbaye

Premier League duo Liverpool and Manchester United are among a number of sides reported to be chasing Inter Milan’s 19-year-old right-back Ibrahima Mbaye.

The Senegalese youngster is currently on loan at fellow Italian side Livorno, where his form has won him admiring glances from across Italy and beyond.

According to Talksport, this interest has spread as far as the Premier League, with Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers and United boss David Moyes both said to be interested in the full-back.

Mbaye has made 20 league appearances for Livorno this season – starting 17 of them – and has provided one assist.

His form has attracted the interest of Italian duo Lazio and Juventus, who were both believed to have made offers for the youngster rejected during the winter transfer window.

Right-back has proven to be a problem position for United this season, with Rafael, Chris Smalling and Phil Jones all filling in there. Mbaye is contracted at Inter until 2016, but would reportedly be available for as little as £2.2 million.
