Manchester United are looking to bolster their squad further with reports suggesting that the Dutch duo of Nigel de Jong and Daley Blind may soon be heading to the Louis van Gaal revolution at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils have been quite pro-active throughout the summer and now their persistence in the transfer market might finally be awarded. United, in recent weeks signed Marcos Rojo and look to have agreed a fee for Rojo’s fellow countryman Angel di Maria. Now, they look likely to add a couple of names more to their squad.

A number of Dutch names have been linked with the Red Devils in past few months ever since Louis van Gaal was announced to be the man in charge for the new season at the Theatre of Dreams.

However, no Netherlands international has yet arrived in Manchester. Blind and de Jong might soon change that.

De Jong already boasts of Premier League experience, having played three seasons for United’s cross-town rivals Manchester City. Reports now suggest that Ed Woodward can prise him away from San Siro for as little as £10million. De Jong be the exact thing that van Gaal needs at the moment to add some much-needed steel to the middle of the park with last year’s recruit Marouane Fellaini flopping big time in the red of Manchester.

Blind on the other hand might represent United’s third signing of the summer at the left-back position after both Patrice Evra and Alexander Büttner departing from Old Trafford in the summer. The 24-year old is reportedly valued at around £16million.

The Ajax defender really caught the eye with a series of sizzling performances for the Dutch national team in the recently concluded FIFA World Cup under the tutelage of van Gaal.
