Rumour: Manchester United keen on signing Everton's Seamus Coleman

Coleman a realistic transfer target for Louis van Gaall

Manchester United’s manager Louis van Gaal wants to sign Everton right-back Seamus Coleman, 26, for a fee of around £20million. The Red Devils dished out a 1-1 draw against Stoke City and it was pretty evident that United’s Achilles heel is the defense. With United playing with three men at the back, Coleman could be easily slotted in the role of a wingback, with freedom to bombard forward.

The Irishman has been a standout performer is Everton’s ailing defense and has regularly swept them out of harms way. Coleman’s eye for attacking movement, is yet another aspect which would profit Manchester United, if the Everton man signs.

Although, Manchester United are not facing any competition for Coleman’s signature at this point of time, it would be advisable if the deal is done and dusted in the opening weeks of the transfer window itself, as defensive worries are piling on the Red Devils.

Meanwhile, Coleman would cherish the opportunity of plying his trade for Manchetser United. Manchester United are expected to cough up 20 million for his services. Although the price tag seems a bit high, it could turn out to be a bargain, if Coleman delivers in the Red jersey.
